We looked at five houses today. (We had originally planned to see six, but our agent said we might not have time to get to all of them, so we cut the one on a ridiculously small lot.)

As with cars, we are picky picky picky. I made notes on each place while we were looking, so I'll post those and then chatter about each one a little more ( behind the cut )

So I'm pretty sure we decided that we wouldn't buy any of these houses. We also talked for a little while about whether we'd buy a house first (and risk paying double mortgage for a long time until the condo sold) or sell the condo first (and have to either find a house very quickly or move to a rental and move again when we found a house). A contingent offer might be an option, but it seems like a pretty crappy option. It's too bad we can't rent out the condo.

I think the best option would be to find a nice older couple who were looking to downsize from a nice big house, and we could just give them some money and trade places. Sadly, I don't think it's a realistic option.
